Astrological explanation of depression

Astrological explanation of depression

Depression – What does it mean?

Most people have felt sad or depressed at times. Feeling depressed can be a normal reaction to loss, life’s struggles, or an injured self-esteem. Depression is more than just a low mood – it’s a serious illness that has an impact on both physical and mental health. Depression impacts twice as many women as men. Dwelling on and rehashing negative feelings, occurs more commonly in women who have depression in comparison to men who have the illness. This behavior may involve negative self-talk, crying for no obvious reason and blaming oneself.

Relationship between mind and moon

The Moon has a series of negative effects on the human mind, scientifically and spiritually. The frequency emanated by the moon affects the frequency of the mind that exerts control over our feelings, emotions and desires.

Conjunction of Saturn and moon

Saturn doesn’t make things easy. Saturn commands us to get to work and to work hard. Saturn has a natural rulership over places and conditions that are cold, dark, oppressive, or  defined through weakness, decay or hard physical labour.
Saturn calls for loss, denial and sacrifice wherever our immediate ego-driven interests conflict with wider needs or our own future evolution. As the ‘Grim Reaper’ Saturn  appears only to be  concerned with bringing denial to our hopes and expectations.

In Vedic astrology the lunar nodes, known as Rahu and Ketu, have special powers. Often referred to as our karmic destiny, they indicate our greatest gifts and our darkest issues.
Rahu is our entrapment and Ketu is our final liberation from the karmas of the soul. Rahu will give things, but always with a price. Ketu will take away, but gives the gift of seeing or enlightenment.

Position of moon

If the Moon is placed in the 6th, 2nd, 4th, 8th and 12th houses it is auspicious. It would enliven a dying person by putting a few drops of water in his mouth.

But if the Moon is malefic in the 6th house and Mercury is placed in the 2nd or 12th house, it leads to have suicidal tendencies. Similarly, if the Moon is malefic and the Sun is placed in the 12th house, then it causes severe troubles.

Moon in paap kartari yoga

If any house or planet is been hammed between two malefic planets (Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu are known as Malefics) so strength and good quality of hammed house or planets gets reduced which is known as Paap Kartari yoga. Mars is furious; Saturn leads to negative thought and Rahu and Ketu cause extremity. All these lead to tremendous emotional imbalance.

Sade sati

The period of Sade Sati has been understood as a testing phase in life. Saturn is known to be a hard task master and it regresses the native on various grounds during this period. It is well known to delay things so it becomes very likely that some auspicious events in life get delayed.

How to fight with depression

Recovering from depression requires action; Push yourself to do things, even when you don’t feel like it. You might be surprised at how much better you feel once you’re out in the world.

Suicidal approach

One of the most common type of depression is suicidal attempt, when mars, in the above combination conjuncts with the natal moon. In such a situation, an individual is seen to grow a fighting ability within him that is used to fight his severe inner stress or ultimately commit suicide.
