Diwali is an auspicious major festival of India that is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm. On this day, individuals wake up early in the morning. After taking shower or bath, all the younger ones will pay tribute to the god and all elders in their family. For celebrating the auspicious festival, most of the people decorate their offices and homes with the leaves of banana, ashoka and mango tree.

For the Lakshmi Puja, Pradosh kaal is considered as the best Muhurat that is the period after the sun set. Some people used to perform pooja in the Mahanishita Kaal too. But, the Mahanishita Kaal (at midnight) is mainly for the community of the Tantriks and the people who are practicing for Pandits. For the common people, Pradosh Kaal Muhurat that is in the evening is best suited.

It’s not good to follow the Choghadiya Muhurat and perform the Lakshmi Pujan in that mahurat, as it is just good for the travelling purpose. It’s best to perform the Lakshmi Poojan in Pradosh Kaal (that is in the evening) when the Sthir Lagna or the fixed lagna prevails. The Lakshmi Poojan is performed under this duration of time than goddess Lakshmi ji will stay for long in the house. That’s why this time is considered as the best time for the pooja. Vrishabha Lagna is the lagna which is considered as the Sthir or fixed and that’s why it is preferred for the Diwali festival.

One should make sure to perform the Laxmi pooja within the given time of lagna mahurat for the best results. This enables an individual to get the blessings of the goddess Laxmi. On the day of laxmi pooja, all the family members take out their valuables and worship them. It is considered that money or other valuables signifies the Laxmi and worshipping those is considered as worshipping the almighty goddess Laxmi herself. Best wishes of Diwali 2017.
