There are many festivals celebrated in India. Navratri is an important one of them. It is celebrated in most of the places of this country. What is meant by Navratri? Navratri means nine nights. This festival is celebrated during nine days and nights and each day has its importance of different incarnations of Shakti or Maa Durga. In this specific form of festival Durga is worshipped in the form of mother. Navratri is thought to be the most auspicious time to worship Maa Durga because in this period she spreads her energy to all for the sake of well-being of the people and to destroy the evil vibes. This festival is also known as the Durga Puja in most of the parts of the country. People celebrate the Navratri celebration four times every year. The four Navratri’s that are being celebrated are Ashad Navratri, Ashwin Navratri, Magh Navratri and Vasantha Navratri. Ashwin Navratri and Vasantha (Chaitra) Navratri are performed by all. But Ashad Navratri and Magh Navratri are known as Gupt Navratri and are mainly performed by the sadhkas (spiritual seekers) to perform powerful tantrik rituals for shatkarma tantrik prayog (Shantikaran, Vashikaran, Uchatan, Videshan, Stambhan and Maran). During the Navratri’s worshippers do vast prayers to gratify Devi Durga to get her blessings. In addition to Goddess Durga, prayers are also being offered to Shri Durgasaptshati, Shriamd-devi Bhawad, Devi Mahaatmya and other forms of Devi Durga.
Magh Gupt Navratri

Magh Navratri takes place in month of February every year. It is being observed in the Shukla Paksha of month of Magh. These Navratri days are very propitious to throw away all worldly evils by performing detailed Vedic Puja. It is measured that if devotees chant the shlokas or mantras with full allegiance, Goddess will fulfill all the wishes of the individual. Principally the Goddess during these days is worshipped in three forms- power, wealth and wisdom.

Benefits of Gupt Navratri
Gupt Navratri is legendary for all the tantrik puja in some parts of India. This puja is carried out so that Devi becomes delighted and showers her blessings in variety of wealth, knowledge, affluence and constructive energies. Throughout all the nine days Goddess Durga is worshipped with the chanting of Durga Saptashati Paath. Devotees enumerate the Nivaran Mantra “Aim Hreem kleem chaamundaayai vichche” as many times as possible. Followers either keep fast for all the nine days or three fasts each in the period of three days.
Samput are the unequivocal words or mantra or hymn or shloka which is followed by Hindu scriptures in a precise way either in the beginning, middle or in the end of mantra paath. The use of Samput makes the hymn stronger and powerful and gives escalated effects.
There are various Samput vidhi (rituals) used with sacrosanct scriptures and holds unique connotation in Durga Saptashati Paath and must be used extremely devotedly and cautiously.
Samput Paath of Durga Saptashati
Throughout the Navratri days Durga Saptashati Samput paath is being accomplished in the Navgraha Mandir. During Gupt Navratri Durga Saptashati mantras are being done with full deliberation and are measured to be the part of Markandeya Purana. All the hymns in the scripture portray how Goddess Durga was provided with power and weapons by the threesome Gods Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara to demolish the evil Mahishasura and other demons.
It is believed that with exact use of Samput hymn people can attain any unattainable object in their life. Samput Paath of Durga Saptashati saves people from harm from following evil effects:-

- hitch in getting inherited possessions

- accomplishment in profession
- repeated loss of job
- anxiety in married life

Samput Paath also helps a person to chuck out all the transgressions in the past and future and to achieve the deliverance and sensation in life.
Ashtmi and Navami of Gupt Navratri
On the day of Ashtmi (8th day), Navratri puja is performed in all Shakti Peeths and on the day of Maha Navami grand havan is conducted with the chanting of Durga Saptashati shlokas and other verses of Goddess Durga.
