On this occasion, people of Ayodhya lighten up the diyas of pure ghee to remove the darkness of the no moon night and welcome lord Ram. During the tenure of 14 years, Lord Rama has conquered on Ravana, an evil King, who kidnapped the wife of Lord Ram. The evil king Ravana signifies the dishonesty, immorality and arrogance whereas lord Ram signifies honesty, righteousness and mortality. Lord Ram conquers over the evil king Ravana and it is considered as the win of the truth over the evil.
It is considered that on the day of Diwali, Goddess Laxmi itself visit on the Earth and stays in the houses of people.
