Shardiya Navratra Ghatasthapana Muhurat 2015

The shardiya navratra will begin on 13 October 2015. Ghatasthpana is the most significant ritual performed on the first day of the Navratri. This days marks the beginning of the nine days of Maa Durga festival. Hindu scriptures well define the rules and guidelines to perform the Ghatasthapana during a certain period of time. This process is the invocation of Goddess Shakti and doing it on the wrong time, might bring the wrath of Goddess Shakti as mentioned in the scriptures. Ghatasthapana is prohibited during Amavasya and night time.

On 13 October 2015, the Ghatasthapana Muhurta is on 06:24 AM to 10:12 AM. The duration to perform the Ghatasthapana is 3 hours 48 minutes.

The most auspicious time to do Ghatasthapana is the first one third of the day while Pratipada is prevailing. If due to some reason this time is not available to perform the rituals then Ghatasthapana can be done during the Abhijit Muhurta. Hindu saints advice to avoid Nakshatra Chitra and Vaidhriti Yoga during Ghatasthapana but these are not prohibited muhurat. The most important factor to consider during Ghatasthapana is that it is done before Hindu midday while pratipada is prevailing.

We take care of all the conditions and exceptions to calculate and find the best time to perform the ritual. We prefer the best time to perform the Ghatasthapana is to calculate the time from the Vedic scriptures and not use the Choghadiya muhurta. The Live Puja Yagya team consider the Lagna to calculate the Muhurta. The factors which are prohibited for Ghatasthapana are afternoon, night time and any time that comes beyond the sixteen ghatis after sunrise.

Ghatasthapana is also known as Kalash Sthapana and on the first day of Durga puja festival Shailputri the first incarnation of Goddess Durga is worshipped.
