Significance of Ganesha Atharvashirsha puja

The practice of the Ganesha  Atharvashirsha puja came from the Sri Ganpati Atharvashirsha strotra that was written by sage Atharva. To praise Lord Ganesha, the quintessence of the universe, he wrote this stotra in Sanskrit that is a part o the Upanishads. The stotra is chanted to pay homage to the ultimate form of divinity, which subsumes all other form of the Hindu Gods and Goddesses. In the stotra, Lord Ganesha and His supreme powers are praised. Lord Ganesha is in the control of the entire universe – creation, sustaining and destruction of all.
